At the Web 2.0 conference in San Francisco Thursday, Google co-founder Sergey Brin denied efforts to buy Twitter, but hinted that he might have, you know, considered it. His extended conversation was reported by TechCrunch.

Also at Web 2.0, a panel of 15-to-18-year-olds was asked about online habits, and agreed that Facebook topped the list. All five dismissed Twitter. Nobody mentioned MySpace.

East Bay hyperlocal site Oakland Local was written up by Editors Weblog.

The late San Francisco-born experimental filmmaker Chuck Strand will be the focus of a tribute today featuring screenings and commentary at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
