How many of your past articles do you post? I've been freelancing since 2000 and have clips from the past 5 years. Do you only post current articles so as to appear up to date or do you post articles from a couple of years back to show your experience? Thoughts, anyone? Also, I'd love to see people's sites, so post your urls too!

Here's mine:

i only post the best of the most recent ones, plus a few award winners or others that i really, really like.

but i gave up my site a few years ago because it wasn't really leading a lot of business my way. now i just use my freelance marketplace site and point my old URL there. nothing fancy, but people can still find me and it's much cheaper.

I like the FM and have gotten business off it myself, but I personally would supplement a marketplace subscription with a Web site. You can get a Web site and e-mail for a domain for less than $20 a month these days. And I think a Web presence can be one of those things that can tip the scales in your favor on occasion.

Also, the amount of space you're allowed on FM is relatively small. I point all my samples to my Web presence, enabling me to have as many samples there as I want, for all intents and purposes.

Just my $.02

I mean to update more often than I do. I think if you have more than one specialty, it makes sense to have 3-5 clips per area. Nobody's going to read more than that.

Renny, nice site, but I would list the award-winner first instead of last.

i solve cyrus' problem by putting my samples on an FTP site, so i get all the clips i want, too. and by linking my old URL to my new MB/FM site, anybody can find me. it comes down to how much cash you want to spend.
