I'm hoping someone here can answer my questions/calm my paranoia.

I'm planning a trip to Mexico in February and have been scouring all the cheap flight sites all day. Busysky.net seems to be spitting out numbers that are about $400 cheaper than any other site. However, I'm not too sure about it. I've never heard of this site and can't find any reviews or any non-affiliated links anywhere.

Have any of you used this site? Or, while we're at it, any other good cheap airfare sites that I might not have stumbled upon?

As my name suggests, I'm based in Canada so some sites (Priceline comes to mind) are a no go.

Any help would be great! Thanks.

Busysky.net
Hey Julie

I have also recently found this site and was wondering the same thing. The rates are great, it just seems kinda strange that they are that much lower. I tried to buy a ticket off the site and it told me that there was an error in my prossesing, so they sent me an emailing saying that if i sent them money through Western Union that they would be able to issue me a ticket. But the stange thing was that i was supposed to send it to the lady's manager that was out of town. That just doesnt seem right to me, so i dont think im going to use it. Just thought i would give you a heads up. I was curious if anyone else responded to your posting though.

Thanks
Kristin

A big Scam!
Hi Julie
I tried to buy the tickets yesterday from busysky.net and I got the same reply as you to pay the money to the lady's manager to bulgaria. I did some reserch and I found that this website was created on Sep 19, 04 and the person name is Robert Pearce. He owns busysky.net as well as crazytickets.com and apparently both sites look like scam to me. So, be careful

Thanks so much for your replies! I knew something wasn't quite right ... then I tried to call the place and got an automated message saying, ''Thank you for calling. Goodbye.'' Hmm. And this Bulgaria business? No thanks.

I think I'd rather pay a little extra and go with a reputable company.

Back to the drawing board for me. But again, thanks for both of your replies.

BusySky.net are Fraudulent
DO not submit you information to the following sites, they are all being run from Bulgaria. If you already submitted credit card info, I would suggest cancelling your credit card.
Cheapclouds.com, Busysky.net, Crazytickets.net, Submitprice.net are all the same or similar sites being run out of Bulgaria.
See www.greatestcities.com/community/forum/1374341.html
for more info.
Intermedia.net in California hosts BusySky and CheapClouds, however they don't seem so be to cooperative in protecting the general public and removing these offending sites.

Busysky-beware
I had the same thing happen - incredibly great deal (the flight times are genuine which makes it seem even more authentic). But I got the same decline code (302?) on 2 different credit cards, neither of which should have been declined. I have called both cards and no charges have been incurred. I tried to call numerous times to all 3 numbers listed and one is constantly busy, the 2nd picks up, thanks you for calling and hangs up and the 3rd never picks up, only rings constantly. The next day, I received an email saying they were investigating my declined status (I'm sorry, but one call to a credit card company can answer that question). And 2 more days later, the same Western Union email, requesting that a money order for immediate cash be sent to someone from Bulgaria who was traveling in London at the time. Suspecting fraud, I forwarded the entire info to the IFCC (internet fraud commission) for investigation and replied to busysky to alert them that I had done so. My advice, use those flight times and call the carrier directly, or go to their website directly. I got the best deals that way. And forward their Western Union request to the IFCC; they'll find out if it's genuine or not.

The Same
I tried to purchase airfare yesterday and got the same 302 error code, same with the phone numbers.

It's obviously a scam. I called my bank already and they can't stop a charge online until it hits. I am going to call and report fraud though, if I get the email asking to Western Union it.

I'm glad this thread of posts was here... I was freaking out thinking my money was going to be taken. I assume no ones accounts were actually charged, but I will probably request a new account or account number all the same.

Wow
I'm glad I'm not the only one. Isabel, can you let us know what happens with your fraud report? I'd be interested in keeping tabs on this.

Luckily I didn't actually submit any credit card info - stopped short of hitting that 'send' button.

I guess when it comes down to it, the lesson learned is the good old, ''if it's too good to be true, it probably is.''

I don't remember if I've said this yet, but I've since booked with a known site and while it was a bit more expensive, the peace of mind is priceless.

concern regarding busysky
Did anyone actually have his or her card charged?

After encountering the same (302) decline message, I checked it out and found various reports of this site being a scam. I immediately called my card company, explained the situation, and asked them not to authorize any charges in the specific amount of my supposed ticket. I'm just really paranoid now.

FYI - I also reported them to the IFCC.

So far, my card has not been charged... and I don't expect it to be, as they requested other members Wire them the cash instead.

Busysky.net
I had the same experience. I was looking all over the place for cheap airfare to Mexico for my birthday, December 29th, for a 1 week stay. I tried several discount airfare sites and they were all coming up at around $750 or so. Then a day or 2 later, I got an e-mail from a new site, Busysky.net, saying that they had a rate of $312. !!! I thought, ''How nice that they'd notify me. This is great!'' (silly me)

I booked my hotel and then booked my flight, and immediately got the ''302 Credit card declined! Card authorization failed.'' I was totally surprised, because I used a debit card, not a credit card, and I have a few thousand dollars in the account, which means that the transaction should have been instantaneous.

This happened late last night, and the first thing this morning, I called the hotel and asked them not to charge my reservation until I had this sorted out, which they were kind enough to agree to.

In the meantime, I got an e-mail telling me to ''proceed with an alternative method of payment'', i.e. a wire transfer. The address given is in Germany, which sent up red flag #2.

Then I came here. Questions answered.

My next call is to my bank. Then I'll report them to whomever is appropriate.

Sadly, the airfare quoted me was going to make my trip happen, and now I'm not going to go.

I'm starting to plan for a trip in February, this time with a reputable agent.

Almost Scammed
Ditto! I had the same experience, though they have not gotten around to asking me to wire them money. When I called the phone number some guy answered with a muffled ''hello'' I asked if this was Busysky.net and after a few seconds hesitation he said ''yes'' When I responded that it did not seem like a business he hesitated again and then finally started acting like he was a customer service rep ''What issue may I help you with?'' I replied ''none'' and hung up. I had my card canceled. Let this be a lesson to us. I should have done this Google search which brought me here before I gave my info to them. Any scum bag can design a professional looking web site but if it is a scam it is not that hard to find out with a little research.

How about Cheap trips.org????
I ran into the same problem with Busysky. Same denial code, same wire transfer to Bulgaria, however I never got the chance to speak to anyone from the site, just the busy tone. Now I am paranoid about all other sites.
Does anyone know anything about Cheaptrips.com? Is this site for real?

I am so glad this posting was here. I was trying to buy a ticket from MN to Las Vegas, and this was the cheapest site. I was very uncertain from the begninning but my boyfriend said it looked ok. He travels and buys tickets all the time so I gave them my credit card number and the same error 302 came up. After trying to call and email them everyday sense I bought the ticket without getting any response I started searching for problems other people have been having with this site.

After reading all the other problems have had I have decided to cancel my credit card. I would advise everyone else to do the same. Good luck, and use the sites that you know are real.

BusySky.net
Yeah, I think it's a scam. I got the same 302 credit card denied message and later a request for wire transfer. I actually tried to wire the money (to some bank in Thailand). My bank set the payee parameter of the wire to ''BusySky'', which I think may save me $300. Apparently the bank in Thailand is holding the money right now because there is not sufficient info for the receiving account. I guess the account specified by BusySky looks like a personal account (my bank said). So, I think I will get my money back, but will probably need to cancel my debit card and order a new one. BEWARE!

Busysky what a scam!!!
Hi,

My friends and I tried to book flights to L.A for Spring break and after doing a search of the flight sites we came across busysky and they were so much cheaper than the rest. We were all so excited, as the flights came in way under budget.
We all then proceeded to buy the flights and it came up as 302 error and then said they will get in contact with us later as our cards had been declined.
My friends and I all received emails from 'Monica' at busysky.net and she said to wire transfer the money to a bank in Thailand. It just seemed wierd as I checked with my bank and my card appeared to be fine, so we suspected fraud.
We all decided not to send them the money and have since then cancel our credit cards. All I have to say is SHAME ON THEM!!!

Here is what I got in my email:
During investigation of the card transaction you attempted to place
at your order time, we cannot get an authorization by the bank for
charging the specified amount. The only option I have is to proceed
with an alternate method of payment, i.e. complete a wire transfer
to our bank account.

To process the payment, please use the following bank info:

Bank name: Bangkok Bank
Account number: 1750948398
Beneficiary: Pakanan Paungpaoi
SWIFT Code: BKKBTHBK

Bank Branch details:
Khlong Toei
Bangkok 10110
Thailand

Please, indicate
ATTN: Billing department, airline tickets payment
within the wire transfer remark field.

All fees are to be covered by our company and the exact amount
to be sent for the airfare is 212.41 USD. Once I have the payment
confirmed by our billing department, I'll issue the tickets immediately.
The ticket will be on hold until you complete the wire transfer and we
receive your payment information. If you have difficulties arranging the
wire transfer, please ask your bank for additional support on how to
complete it or use e-banking.Thanks for understanding and sorry for the
inconvenience!

You can then track your status by going to: http://loc.busysky.net/track

and use this key - 951a3dc08acf74481b9801ce65e7ac54 . The
system will refresh your info automatically in a few hours, as soon
as we receive the payment.

Thanks for chosing our services!

Best Regards,
Monica

Hi all,
subman96 is very right with his Posting – 3/8/2005 9:27:21 PM.
I got exactly the same page. Don't fall for it guys!! Looks like I've been caught out already.
I have since researched about 7 sites for the past 3 days now since parting with a very large sum of money on 3rd March 2005 and not having any tickets to show for it or not been able to get an answer from the person I was communicating with. The sites have been dead for a few days then all of a sudden they have come alive again. I have informed the authorities in Bangkok and reported it to the police here in UK. I can only hope now that an application from my end through my bank can retrieve most if not all of my money.
The sites involved are as follows and they are all linked or have had links to the same IP address in Bulgaria, although some are not working now:

www.busysky.net
www.aircentral.net
www.superfares.biz
www.bookingsaver.com
www.submitprice.net
www.happyticket.net
www.crazytickets.net
www.cheapclouds.com

So if you come across any of these, give them a WIDE berth. Hope this helps you steer clear of them.

I wouldn't believe any information entered in the site's whois records. It's either completely fake, or it's the contact info of the poor sucker whose credit card was used to register the domain.

Frauds aren't dumb enough to leave obvious breadcrumbs like that.
