| alyeditrix | Posted 6/21/2005 5:09:03 PM | show profile | email poster I am registered with Kelly, never got any work from them. The only company I got work from was Lloyd Staffing, but I feel like they are almost the fast food industry of staffing agencies. They always offer me work that is below my request pay rate, and work that doesn't even require a college degree, let alone the experience I have. And if I turn down an assignment or express unhappiness with one I already have (like is going on with the current temp-to-perm assignment I have), they get tiffed. |

| earl | Posted 8/3/2005 1:46:31 PM | show profile | email poster Avoid AXION Temp Agency They misrepresented a job to me - assuring me that it wasn't cold calling when in fact it was. When I called them to say that I didn't want to do the assignment because it wasn't was I agreed to do, they pressured me to stay. Cara, said, ''You have to stay there for four days.'' Basically it was a bait and switch - intentional or not. She was not understanding or contrite. I agreed to stay one day, and Cara insisted I leave without getting my pay slip signed saying ''We'll take care of it.'' When I went in for my pay check the following week, it wasn't there. The supervisor assured me she'd try to get a check cut as soon as the accountant was in on Monday, but really she just let it lapse into the bulk processing for the next week's checks. All along the way there was no support from them. I would never do another job for them, and I would encourage people to look at other agencies first. |

| daveed | Posted 8/4/2005 2:33:48 PM | show profile Core staffing is good... They found me a temp job at Shape magazine, of all places in their marketing department. I went through Randi Gold @ Core. Nice person, very busy. It pays to be a real go-getter and enthusiastic, and to know how to negotiate for a good hourly rate. As with all temp agencies, shine is as shine does (same with sh1te). If you do a great job, the temp agency looks really good, too. And it helps you get selected for better assignments. Good luck. ------ "The lure of the distant and the difficult is deceptive... The great opportunity is where you are." |
