| rv224 | Posted 8/24/2005 11:58:35 AM | show profile Im interested in reviewing a book that is releasing in October. I am a freelance writer, but I havent done a book review as of yet. How do I go about getting a copy of the book? Do publishers let freelancers review books? |
| andrea | Posted 8/24/2005 12:57:02 PM | show profile When our publicist gets a request for a review copy from a freelancer, she asks for his/her credentials. If it's someone she doesn't know, she'll Google the person and see what comes up. If nothing comes up (i.e., the person doesn't have a track record of reviews in print), she will most likely refuse the request. The only time she won't is if the person has an assignment from a publication that would provide useful pr or if the person is relevant to the field the book addresses. Best of luck, Andrea Omnibus Press |

Try to get an assignment, then you can easily get a reviewer's copy. Publishers dont decide who does reviews; editors make those decisions. |

I doubt they want to give out copies on the outside chance the review would get posted somewhere. We get alot of review copies without a problem but that's because they see all the book news we've already covered. ------ www.wordnbass.com book and music news |
