i just graduated this past May with an art history major but i've interned with harper's bazaar fashion editorial staff as well as an up and coming start-up fashion magazine. but i feel like my calling may be PR/event planning. i've realized over the years from praise from friends that i may actually be good at it. are there any entry level position open that anyone knows about? or perhaps i should start with an internship at a fashion PR firm first? i was hoping to intern with KCD because while i was at Bazaar, we worked a lot with KCD and they had the most amazing clients! but i cannot find any information on who to contact or send my resume to! are there any other fashion PR firms i should look into contacting? and do any of them pay? so many questions! haha thank you!

from one fashion lady to the next
First off, good for you that you did internships while in college. I have a similar background, though left NYC for greener pastures a little over a year ago. I used to freelance for KCD and they are a great company. Yes it's hectic and there are some strong personalities, but you've been in fashion publishing so it shouldn't be an issue. What you should do is try to get in there to freelance for the upcoming shows. They'll be looking for people soon to work August and September on the shows, you'll get some experience AND get paid. I would call them up (if you need to you can look it up on yahoo yellowpages) and ask the receptionist to who's attention you can send your resume, they are busy so be sure to follow-up. Let me know how else I can help. Best of luck, fashionista.
