I haven't found any comprehensive list of reputable journalism schools, so I'd appreciate it if you could either point me to a website with a good list, or else help me start a list in this thread. That might help those of us considering J-school (particularly post-B.A. J-school) to see what our options are.

So lay it on here, if you please. Which schools (private, public, American, foreign) offer decent Masters (or other post-degree) programs in journalism?

To start things off, here are the few I'm familiar with, off the top of my head:

-Columbia Graduate School of Journalism
-Medill at Northwestern (graduate and undergrad)
-S.I. Newhouse School at Syracuse University
-UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism
-University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication

Plus every Canadian post-degree program:
-Ryerson University
-Concordia University
-University of King's College
-Carleton University
-University of Western Ontario
-University of British Columbia

UNT
University of North Texas (in Denton) has a good advanced degree program for journalism. Also has a great film studies and production department. Going to UNT was the highlight of my 7-years living in TX.

Amy, an easier way to compile a thorough list would be by looking at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communications and seeing where members teach. www.aejmc.org

The Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia is where I'll be getting my Master's degree. They have a great program and are home to the Peabody Awards.

Louisiana State University
not bad for a state university, you must apply to get into the Manship School of Mass Communication (journalism school) after your first year of college--and not everyone gets accepted. did a lot of work with the times picayune of new orleans after katrina, times pic won pulitzer prize for public service for chronicling the catastrophic aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
