A real estate company has asked me for permission to reprint an article of mine that would appear in a publication for its 80,000 brokers. Any thoughts on whether this company should pay a fee to reprint the story and make it so accessible? It appeared in an international newspaper, published in UK, US and Asia.

Yes, I definitely think you should charge a fee; they will be making $$ off your article. I would suggest somewhere b/w $150 and $300. Or even more, depending on what you think they would pay.

a k-12 testing company asked me the same question. i asked for 1,000 and they paid it. i feel like i should have asked for more. i was paid $750 for story originially. good luck...

They should absolutely pay you. I think about $1200 sounds fair, given the number of copies they're printing.
