| writermum | Posted 10/20/2006 12:49:13 PM | show profile This may seem a really ignorant question, but how does one go about finding a celebrity's publicist? I edit a small niche magazine and am told that a celeb has an interest in the cause. Thanks for any advice. |
| Stanley_Milgram | Posted 10/21/2006 7:47:48 AM | show profile you call the screen actors guild in los angeles. you ask for "actors to locate." They will give you the agent of the actor. Then you call the agent and ask who the publicist is. They will give you the name and number. You call the publicist and give them your spiel and hope for the best. Good luck. |

| princess | Posted 10/23/2006 9:07:10 AM | show profile Screen Actors Guild is usually the best source - if I remember correctly, you can inquire about 3 celebs in one call. That may have changed, but if you need info on a couple of people, it saves time. Other thing is if they're a TV personality, the networks have PR divisions for each area - news, primetime, daytime, etc. In my experience, I've sometimes found the network PR people easier to deal with than a star's personal PR. The ones I've worked with would contact the personal PR and if they like your pitch, they have a better shot at getting the star to participate, especially if the show or movies they're in is named. Good luck. |
