| hal4682 | Posted 2/16/2007 6:59:49 PM | show profile Enough is enough. I've had it. The post from Brian Stelter about Col. Ken Allard (Ret.) is an absolute travesty. It is time for MediaBistro to hold this kid accountable for his behavior, which hasn't been ever been worse than it was today. Col. Allard wrote his column severing his ties with NBC News on February 14. Finally, Stelter posted the article today, but not before he could get NBC's side (why doesn't Fox or CNN ever get the same courtesy?) and spin it in their favor. It's well-documented on here that Stelter is an NBC apologist and huge Countdown w/Keith Olbermann fan so let's just skip that. This is from an NBC spokeperson, according to Brian Stelter: "Mr. Allard is not under contract to NBC and hasn't appeared on our air in nearly a year," an NBC spokesperson said this afternoon. "In truth, there's really nothing to sever." Excuse me? KEN ALLARD HAS NOT BEEN ON THEIR AIR IN A YEAR BECAUSE HE HAD A STROKE!!! If Brian Stelter knew this and omitted it on purpose, MediaBistro should "sever ties" with him. This is a disgraceful smear on a decorated veteran and respected military figure. Oh, since when is someone who was paid by the network for 10 years to appear and analyze the military not a part of NBC? Col. Allard knows Tom Brokaw and many others at NBC and even they will disagree with this sleazy spokesperson and Brian Stelter, who by his actions is close to becoming an NBC spokesman himself. I can't tell you how disgusted I am with this. And not to mention that the whole thing was a smokescreen since he's been avoiding the William Arkin issue and strategically did not quote Col. Allard's point about TVNewser's favorite personality, Keith Olbermann. Enough is enough. If this website has any class, it will not allow one of its employees to omit the fact that someone suffered a stroke and allow himself to be used so despicably by an NBC spokesperson. This has got to stop, Brian Stelter. You've gone too far this time. P.S. Col. Allard (Ret.) is being made aware that he "never had a formal relationship with NBC News" and "hasn't appeared on [NBC] in nearly a year." |
| Nikongirl | Posted 2/16/2007 7:39:11 PM | show profile Honey, you need to breathe.............. |
| Iron Eagle | Posted 2/16/2007 11:32:32 PM | show profile suck it up dude...how many different email addresses do you have? You can't mask all the different phony ass names you have for yourself on here. What are you a committee of one. |
| brother-trucker | Posted 2/17/2007 2:08:20 AM | show profile Hal, My only question is, why does this surprise you? Agree totaly that the stroke thing was a low blow but you have to realize that he takes his cues from NBC's public relations office and even Keith Olbermann himself. For me, the American Journalism Review article where Stelter admitted to being an Olbermann fan and making partisan statements about "standing up to the government," blah blah blah settled it for me. Do I still get pissed off when TVNewser does a hatchet job on someone from Fox or CNN and gives MSNBC a free pass? Of course. Just remember that Stelter went on the record and admitted it and there's no doubt left about what he's using this site to do. Hmmm, that AJR article never made it onto TVNewser, did it? Wonder why. ;-) |
| LiveNewsToday | Posted 2/17/2007 7:44:35 AM | show profile you need to have a w@nk dude... |
| Iron Eagle | Posted 2/17/2007 8:38:16 AM | show profile keep conversing with yourself clown boy..you've been outed long ago... |
| TruthOut | Posted 2/17/2007 11:36:31 AM | show profile No he never posted that article. And probably hoped that no one would ever find it or read it. There's no doubt at this point that he's here to spin for CNBC/NBC/MSNBC. And you have to give him credit, he's great at being able to cut and paste from their PR department's emails. This is a kid who is in way over his head, who doesn't have the experience or judgement to know what a story is and isn't or the ability to report accurately. How many times can he sit on his butt and ask, "Anyone know"? after he poses a question. Apparently he's too lazy to pick up a phone or shoot an email to the nets to find out the answer to his questions. My guess is that some of them no longer talk to him thanks to his bias towards a certain media group (NBC-Uni) so that's what he has to resort to now, hoping someone from within the other nets will "tip" him. He's pathetic. |
| Iron Eagle | Posted 2/17/2007 11:40:53 AM | show profile truth - you've got to get back on your meds. Schizophrenia can be treated. |
| brother-trucker | Posted 2/17/2007 12:41:52 PM | show profile Smoking gun: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3080356/ |
| changed_muh_name | Posted 2/17/2007 3:13:08 PM | show profile Brain and nbc are in bed together. You don't want Brain to do anything thats gonna mess up his new gig do you? |
| brother-trucker | Posted 2/17/2007 7:26:35 PM | show profile That's Brian Stelter for you. |
| TruthOut | Posted 2/18/2007 3:05:58 PM | show profile Jazz-- as Keith Olbermann and Brian's chief apologists, I'd say you're the one with the mental problems who is desperately in need of treatment of some kind. |
| Iron Eagle | Posted 2/18/2007 3:43:52 PM | show profile Truth - man, are you ever swift with the words. See if you can rhyme anything with cornflakes. |
| keltoi2 | Posted 2/20/2007 10:41:58 AM | show profile Glad the Republicans don't stoop to anything so low; wait a minute--they do. Like Saxby Chambliss smearing triple-amputee VietNam vet Max Cleland in their Senate campaign, or the Bush campaign smearing VietNam vet and POW John McCain in the 2000 primaries, or the Swiftboat Liars for Smearing attacking decorated VietNam vet Kerry in the 2004 campaign. And since all of you online patriots are so disgusted by such tactics, you would surely not associate yourselves with slimeballs who would stoop so low. So I'm sure you all quit the Republican Party in protest, right? |
| Iron Eagle | Posted 2/20/2007 11:44:12 AM | show profile keltoi - it's the same person with many board Ids. It's Sybil from the movie a few decades past. |
| brother-trucker | Posted 2/20/2007 7:06:32 PM | show profile Funny how nobody ever addressed NBC's classless assertion that Allard didn't appear in a year. That's like saying "well he's not a part of our team anymore, he hasn't played a game for us all season" after an athlete blows out their knee. The sad part is, we're talking about a serious medical issue here, but why would the facts ever get in the way of a smear campaign by NBC and TVNewser? |
| Iron Eagle | Posted 2/20/2007 7:44:59 PM | show profile yes, it's amazing how much wasted effort one person can devote to himself. Do you really think you're constant bombardment of ridiculous accusations is creating awareness. You should chnage your name to spam man. |
| brother-trucker | Posted 2/20/2007 7:54:07 PM | show profile If the accusations that multiple posters have raised in this thread aren't true, why haven't you attempted to refute them? Cat got your tongue? |
| Nikongirl | Posted 2/20/2007 9:19:11 PM | show profile bigbrotherTruthwhi, gelhal >>If the accusations that multiple posters have raised...<< More like multiple personality disorder. There is evidence that you are the same person. Unconscious moves give you away. |
| Iron Eagle | Posted 2/20/2007 9:57:19 PM | show profile right on Nikon - it's one joker talking to himself trying to pretend there's a major issue at hand. I suspect whoever this is has a crush on Stelter. |
| brother-trucker | Posted 2/20/2007 10:22:10 PM | show profile Another dodge of the issue...keep 'em coming. |
| Nikongirl | Posted 2/20/2007 11:08:29 PM | show profile Another dodge of the issue.... Brian Stelter vs Col. Ken Allard An issue? Are you serious? That's not an issue, it is opinions; just like assholes, everyone has one, although with MP disorder, you could possibly have 7 or 8, maybe more, it's hard to tell. |
| keltoi2 | Posted 2/21/2007 12:11:01 PM | show profile Speaking of dodging, bro-t, neither you nor your righty pals here have addressed the FOX boys' far more blatant smears of retired Marine Colonel John Murtha or the other right-wing smears of military men I've mentioned above. Why is that? |
| mailbag | Posted 2/21/2007 12:42:25 PM | show profile | email poster Keltoi because these guys work at FOX. They have employed folks to cruise message boards for damage control. |
| brother-trucker | Posted 2/21/2007 4:45:37 PM | show profile So whenever I get annoyed with Brian Stelter I'll just say he's a paid agent of MSNBC. Whenever a group of people disagree with me, I'll just say it's only one person with multiple names. It's the easy way to get out of actually having to argue a point. Still waiting for someone to answer if it's ethical for TVNewser to knowingly leave out the fact that Colonel Ken Allard had a stroke. Or to purposely leave Colonel Allard's criticism of Keith Olbermann out of a post. |
