It will be part of a book series about issues relevant to the 08 presidential election, presenting both sides of the issue, as well as history and social/political impact, so that kids can read a well-balanced view and make up their own minds (or prepare for their school debate/paper/etc.). I am looking for people who are willing to share their own firsthand experiences with abortion. Particularly people who, once confronted with the issue, felt differently than they thought they would (but also people whose convictions held steady once they were confronted directly with it). So, for example, maybe you always identified more with pro-life camp, but when your friend asked you to go with her to have an abortion, you found you were able to support her. Or vice versa. Interviewees can use a pseudonym for the publication if they'd like, but my publisher is asking for a signed release with your real info for their fact checkers. Obviously this is a sensitive topic, and all interviews will be treated with utmost respect and understanding, no matter the position it supports. The idea is to show all sides of abortion, so if you've had experience with it, your experience matters to this book. I'm enabling email so people can email me directly. Also, I'd be happy to answer any more questions about the project via email. Thanks in advance! Johannah |
