Greetings,
maybe I'm overlooking something, but I often find it difficult to locate the names and contact info of editors for online news sites and publications. There's no imprint, like you would find in a print publication. Does anyone know where to locate a list of online publications and their editors with contact info?

Thanks.

I'm an editor for an online magazine and...
I'm listed in Bacon's, along with several of my colleagues. Also, is there an "About Us" or "Contact Us" page on the sites that you're looking at?

PRDIVA:
thanks for the tip. I apologize if you are referring to a standard work that I should probably know, but I'm not sure what Bacon's you're referring to. I know the writing guide, but am not sure if that's what you mean. As for online sites, under the About Us or Contact links one usually finds the switchboard number or a contact to the advertising dept. It seems rare to find a department list with editors names and their contact info. I am talking about pure online operations, not the online versions of newspapers and magazines. In most cases with print publications, you have to go through the same editors to pitch stories. Although that is changing as publications beef up their online sites with original content and are beginning to run a two-tiered operation. Thanks again for your reply.

I was referring to Cision Media Map r/o
Formerly known as Bacon's, it's a resource that gives contact information for nearly every editor at magazines, newspapers, online, etc.

I call the switchboard and ask. Almost always, I get more help than I anticipated. Sometimes it's easy to overlook the phone because we're so accustomed to email, etc.
best, Kay
