| Magazine Mania | Posted 4/11/2007 11:19:57 PM | show profile I haven't spoken in depth with my client yet for details, but based on an email I received, she's wanting a bio written for her entertainment-oriented Web site. I do know for certain that if I requested to have my byline on the bio it wouldn't be a problem at all (we go way back). |

| writesonwater | Posted 4/18/2007 2:21:33 AM | show profile THe most common ways to charge for writing, IMO, are by the project or by the word. Rates vary widely, with word rates ranging depending on experience. If you don't have that much experience, perhaps you should think to yourself how much time the project will take you and come up with an estimate of how many hours it will take and go by a decent hourly rate -- $25-75 an hour, perhaps. I charge per project or by the word. If it was my sister, I wouldn't charge her anything. Otherwise, I wouldn't be likely to take it on for less than $200, depending on how many words it is. I'm guessing there'll be some work to it, because often people unaccustomed to working on something like this can be picky and indecisive and a pain to deal with because they don't have a clue. |
