Topic: Cheney's top secret energy task force

| UGoGirl | Posted 4/16/2007 10:01:20 PM | show profile ... clearly it was all about oil and how major U.S. oil companies can get more of the pie. Today about 75% of oil reserves are controlled by national oil companies (NOC), these are government-controlled companies primarily in the middle east, Russia, Venezuela, etc. The war, it was all about the oil... no doubt about it. So the big oil companies could get access to more of that oil so they can get/stay rich. *** ...These developments suggest the answers to two long unanswered questions about the energy policy of the George W. Bush administration: Who attended Dick Cheney's Energy Task Force discussions, and what did they talk about? Without too much risk of being wrong, you can now answer both questions. The participants in the group mostly represented the US energy companies that took part in designing the new Iraqi oil law and that are now working on deals in Central Asia. What they discussed was the plan we now see unfolding in Baghdad and in various Caspian and Central Asian capitals. http://www.evworld.com/article.cfm?storyid=1225 |
| mumbo jumbo | Posted 4/17/2007 10:51:18 PM | show profile Of course it was about oil. I read a long time ago that some of the documents that emerged from the task force (under court order) were maps of the Iraqi oil fields. This was before 9-11, which gave Cheney the opportunity to go right in and grab them. I'd love to read the definitive account of what happened in those meetings. |
| keltoi | Posted 4/18/2007 12:19:22 AM | show profile Unfortunately there is no definitive account of what happened in those meetings, and probably never will be, because Dick and the powers that be want it that way, and the media is too emasculated to try hard enough to find out. But yes, odds are great that Topic 1 was all about a big oil grab. The neoclowns have been gunning for Iraq's oil since at least the early 1990s, as can be seen in papers published by The Baker Institute (yes, Bush buddy, election manipulator and Iraq war arbiter Jimmy B himself) and in the blueprint for the past 6 years of BushCo adventurism, "Rebuilding America's Defenses", a neoclown manifesto written 1 year to the month before 9/11 that details gaining control of the Mideast oil, gearing up for America's control of space, and taking on China, among other future headlines in the making. Reading it is like looking into a crystal ball. (In fact, in one section they talk of how difficult it will be to accomplish many of its goals without "another Pearl Harbor". I just love coincidences.) The latter is from duh boyz at the Project for a New American Century, a crowd of household names in neoclown/BushWorld circles that the "liberal" American media has been desperately, feverishly ignoring for 7 years and counting. It's not like they're hard to find--they have a website, WITH that report (newamericancentury.org). |
