| waki43 | Posted 4/18/2007 1:24:23 PM | show profile | email poster Hi- anyone know the best way to pitch? I've got some bacon's contacts but I also heard the way to pitch is to go through the form on the show's website, which seems bizarre to me for PR professionals who have them means to contact producers directly. Any insight would be much appreciated, I want to make my first attempt somewhat succesful (i.e. connecting with someone, even if its a no). Thanks! |
| maphop | Posted 4/19/2007 10:07:20 AM | show profile There have been numerous threads on this; perhaps you can look at the MB archives? |
| waki43 | Posted 4/19/2007 3:17:25 PM | show profile archives were somewhat helpful, its just that if there's no way to tell who might be best to approach on the length producer list, and if its even up to date (thanks for nothing bacons). My pitch has relevance for a future show I know for a fact they are putting together, I just want to make sure I get the information to the right person, and I get the feeling cold calls are not the way to go. |
| aj | Posted 4/20/2007 9:24:06 AM | show profile You may get more responses if you write what you're trying to pitch (or at least the type of segment) so that anyone with contacts in this area can refer you to the right person. |
| waki43 | Posted 4/20/2007 2:55:50 PM | show profile Its in regards to a national after school program that is amazing, and has centers all over the country. I submitted on thier website and I know they are working on a "schools that change the world"segment, which is perfect, so I submitted the pitch under that tab online. I would just like to connect with a real person , just to see if it got through for sure. Thanks for your help! |
| mlcpr | Posted 4/22/2007 3:21:12 AM | show profile | email poster Oprah I think the best way to do it is to submit online and then call their producer to follow up. I believe her name is Dana... she should be in Bacon's. Good luck! ------ Mona Loring MLC PR www.monaloring.com |
