Topic: Bush Intentionally Prolonging US Presence in Iraq

| keltoi2 | Posted 4/24/2007 12:23:00 PM | show profile Bush is dead set against any timetable for withdrawal from Iraq, using the same hackneyed "until the job is done" cliches. (Though he's never been really clear about what "the job" is.) The question I haven't seen asked is, If he refused a timetable for even September 2008, is he saying that the US troops will still be in Iraq in September 2008? Bush intends to keep them there until he is out of office, leaving the mess--and the blame from the Dittohead chorus--on the next President, and he doesn't seem to care how many die to protect his ego. |

Things will get worse in Iraq before they get better, but delaying the inevitable will only result in more loss of life. Bush and his loyals will do all they can to maintain the status quo until they are out of office and let someone else clean up their mess (so they can later say that if they'd only stayed in Iraq another year or two peace and love would flow again). |
