For $995, Bacon's is offering 2 hardbound directories (your choice) and access to its Quick Search feature.

I think it's a good deal, but I want to get opinions from others. Obviously, I'm budget-conscious and can't afford to pay the ungodly $3,000+ for the full Bacon's version. But, I also want to be able to effectively conduct PR.

Any thoughts?

It's been many years since I've used the Bacon's books, I'm on the web version now, but I do remember that the downside was how often producers, editors, etc changed, leaving the books obsolete very quickly.
