photo editor looking for new ideas...
I quit my job as a photo editor as it was going nowhere and locking me in a corner I could not get out of, so I understand. I am a writer now, but was offered a post as a stock agency manager, which is one way you could go. Archivist is another, as is web site stuff. I have found not much else to choose from.

thanks. how did you get a call back from a photo agency? was it one of the big ones? i have heard stories of PE's moving onto stock jobs and making big bucks, but i have never gotten a call back from applying to jobs online. did u get a contact thru your rep?

Fluke -- called by folks I used to buy from who remembered and liked me. I rarely received calls about on-line applications and was really wondering if my resumes were ending up on a desk or lost in space since I didn't even get "Thank you for submitting" notes back. I have a feeling hundreds of PEs are out there applying at the same time. Big Bucks you will have a hard time finding unless you work for an ad firm or the business side of any other big corp. Editorial don't pay da rent. Good Luck!

art buyer/art producer (same thing, essentially, different name) at an ad agency (not for the faint of heart or true 9 to 5ers, but bigger bucks than editorial)

Using your skills....
lo17-

I would stay in the industry that you know best. There are many non-photo related opportunities in the travel industry, working with tourism boards, resorts, airlines etc..

But remember Images SELL everything ! Words are great but we live in a PHOTO world....

We are a published photography team that has been working with many travel magazines, publishers and tourism boards.

We like many others in the industry are always seeking a rep, a marketing person or persons, a go to guy/ gal to sell our stock images.
So stay in the game and seek out creative areas where you can grow...

Steve Photographer !
