I'm not so much worried about actually libeling someone but more that someone will threaten a suit and I'll have to defend myself. My stories aren't super controversial but they're certainly the type that have the potential to get certain people angry. Anyhow, I'm wondering if anyone here has it and if they think it's useful for the average freelancer. I just read an OJR piece that said most freelancers are covered by the publications they write for but all my contracts have me assuming liability. Don't yours? By the way, the article said it's $1,500 for $1 million in coverage. To me that's kind of a lot. But I'd love to hear what others think. |
