| newyorker | Posted 7/15/2007 8:46:45 PM | show profile Aside from the whole debate between whether Moore or Gupta was right on the coverage of Sicko, a bigger question is why is Gupta a journalist? He would serve CNN better as medical expert, medical consultant, medical pundit. Obviously, because he is a doctor, he has a huge bias and a conflict of interest, especially when covering (or not covering) issues related to health insurance in this country. |

| mailbag | Posted 7/15/2007 10:02:42 PM | show profile | email poster How funny. I just posted a comment there on that debate. What a bunch of b.s. I never noticed he listed himself as "journalist" before this. (Then again, I don't have TV so the only time I see his face is on their website.) I took issue with the France income tax statements both made by Gupta and M Moore. As I stated there, and as I found when living in France, we middle class pay far more here in taxes than they do. Those in Gupta's and Moore's salary range - of course they pay far more in taxes than rich do here. (Who the f cares?) Employers foot the bulk of the bill in France; here we do. So, I read the whole cnn response -- I agree with the use of stats as Gupta pointed out. Other than the mistake of $25 to $251 cnn owed no further response in my view. (Notice - they didn't address Moore's PS about Iraq.) lol. |
| newyorker | Posted 7/15/2007 10:44:54 PM | show profile fyi - his official title is chief medical correspondent |
| noname1234 | Posted 7/15/2007 11:46:54 PM | show profile gupta also made a major blunder when he insisted the "expert" quoted in the story (Keckley) had only 1 affiliation -- with Vanderbilt U. That was straight-up factually wrong. I think gupta ended up in this debate looking stupid. |
| Mr Media | Posted 8/1/2007 2:06:31 PM | show profile Why doesn't Michael Moore take his own advice on health and DROP THE FAT. My goodness Moore is obsese and that's NOT HEALTHY. I mean he's telling the American people to be healthy and this man's bigger then a house. Talk about hypocrite. |
