At the exact moment that GOP pols are defecting from the Bush camp on Iraq and the Senate is holding a big slumber party on Iraq, the White House--the most secretive in US history--suddenly releases a summary of a National Intelligence Estimate which says, in short, "THE TERRORISTS ARE COMING! THE TERRORISTS ARE COMING!" Guess Karl and Dick figured people were wise to the whole Color-Coded Fear Level thing. |

Didn't the GOP claim we invaded Iraq to keep Saddam from turning it into a terrorist haven? What--did they want to do it themselves? |
