JCB --here here. those not intimidated by digression and debate are the valuable members of society. the rest vote for Bush.

Harlem writer:
yeah, way back when I said I didn't support the taking of a husbands name, and gave my reasons for it (bad precedent) and said I founf the whole thing offensive (my opinion, which I assume you were asking for), some moron freak got on , said I was making an issue out of something inconsequntial, and told me to go work on an "important" feminist issue like genital mutilation or somethin." That's how THAT got into the discussion.
Which, BTW, if you are going to comment on something in this thread, it's really only fair--and one of the attributes of a good reporter and journalist--to read the entire thread. Not just respond to a buzz word and throw a few msuings out. That's what people who vote for Bush do.

I like what Margaret Cho said: "You don't have to be a woman to be a feminist, you just have to be human. And if you're not a feminist, you should just kill yourself." Haha!

I've always said that radicals make progress, moderates slow progress, and conservatives reverse progress. Here's to radicals! (NOT Mrs. Radicals...)

Btw, I don't think this thread veered too off-topic, just stretched it, and made lots of Mrs. So-and-So's uncomfy. So sorry...
