What does everyone think?

I actually thought Joe Biden did exceptionally well tonight - maybe even the best overall in my opinion. I don't think he will get the nomination, but he's certainly someone to watch. I think he has an exceptional chance of being chosen as VP by the eventual primary winner.

I didn't catch it. Much as I'm interested in politics, it's hard for me to get too interested so early. Yet I know the democratic candidate could be decided long before I have a chance to weigh in.

If I can find it on youtube or something I may try to watch though.

The whole shebang is on cnn.com ugo.

I watch nearly all of each clip mag girl.

Hillary did well I thought. Obama fumbled a bit, but he too did well.

I would have loved to see an impeachment question.

Like ugo, I think it is too early also. But did enjoy hearing each candidate speak on these issues. I also wonder how much of an impact these online things will have over time. (I assume cnn won't pull them.)

Oh it's definitely too early - I agree.
I wish Gravel wouldn't have been so angry the whole time, though- he did himself a disservice with that. Clinton and Obama did well, and it was intersting watching the dynamic as they referenced each other without outrightly doing so.

oh, and mailbag, if CNN does pull it, I bet it will still be on YouTube somewhere!

I appreciate the firey antics of Gravel. While I don't think he's a good candidate for the job, it surely kept me entertained almost as much as the "straight talk" youtube questions. I'm anxious to see how well the Rupublicans tackle the concerns of average Americans.

Well, I guess what I like best of all is that they are being "forced" into this debate. giggle. The Bush/Kerry debates were so well planted they grew sterilized flowers.

Yeah, there's nothing I hate more than such contrived answers and rah-rah speak that they're barfing rainbows and farting unicorns.

Gravel has it right. Soldiers died in vain for nothing in Vietnam and it's the same for Iraq. It's just a stinking waste. No one gains a thing!

I realize he says that... it doesn't sound right though. Notice how Obama did not answer directly.

I'm certain there ways to phrase it. "They died for a lie, but not in vain because they did believe justice was being served." (or something along the line.) Turn it over to the spin doctas.

mail - however you want to color it - the loss of life was pointless. What did these soldiers gain from this? Getting shit on by the VA by those who are supposed to care for them. Tt's time we hold those accountable to the fire!

I haven't seen this Gavel guy, but he obviously says it like it is. America today is so boring with this faux objectivity and NAMBI politeness. America was not created by the tea party crowd.

Bush has certainly squandered life and treasure; imagine if he had invested $1 trillion in education in America, thereby reducing class size by 10 - 30 percent. Instead he is crippling America with debt, privatization of the government, and lost lives.
