Had an interview today. Everything went fine. I was grilled w/ the standard questions but managed not to sound too comatose. :) At the end, interviewer said she'd be getting back to me in a couple weeks, then added, "If you have any questions before then, please feel free to email me."
This is the second time someone has said this to me at the end of an interview, and I'm wondering what the implication is...
Personally, I've never emailed a company (unless it was a thank you) AFTER I've had the interview and am waiting to hear back about my status. Wouldn't that come across as too needy? Or as if I'm just hanging around thinking of questions that I should have asked during the interview itself?
I'd love to hear other people's take on this. Is this just something standard that interviewers say as a way to close the meeting? Does the interviewer REALLY want to field questions from a prosective candidate? Is it her way of hinting that I SHOULD email her some questions, in order to show her that I'm interested in the job?
I know I'm probably way overthinking all this, but I'd love to get some feedback. Thanks.

I think it's just prefunctory. I would only email if I had a legtimate question.

It doesn't mean a thing, its' just something to say. As long as you send a well written thank you, that's fine.

Good luck,
Pam
