Topic: How to get Freelance proofreading/indexing jobs

I've been in publishing for about a year in managing ed, and have taken some of the NYU editing courses, and plan to take more to complete the certificate.

How does one get these freelance jobs? I would specifically like indexing, but proofreading as well. Do you approach publishers? Who do you contact?
