Was reading this: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/07/29/AR2007072901327.html?hpid=topnews

and it made me wonder. Alberto Gonzales....is he:

A. pathological
B. loyal to the point of willing to fudge "truthiness"
C. just another continual Bush fall guy
D. all of the above
E. other

The sheer amount of half-truths and lies that have apparently spewed from his mouth is just astonishing to me.

Discuss :)

His story is a catch22 for me personally. I love that he made it a priority to crack down on kiddie porn. I'll say "yeah we know" he and the Bush wanted to get rid of judges they didn't like... Where does that leave us? Compromise, cause in dictatorship that is about all we'll ever get. :-(

Considering that, I say leave him be.

Mailbag, I certainly wouldn't say his entire career is without merit or he hasn't done anything of merit. But the article talks about several instances where he has lied (at least purportedly) for the benefit of Bush...and not just about the US attorney firings.

I realize that...just one more in a series of absolute f-ups from this administration that make all prior admins appear as Catholic saints.

I should clarify - I didn't mean for statement on 'letting him be' apply to anyone.... that is what I decided myself. :-) "I'll" let him be is what I should have typed.

I think the top law enforcement leader in this country is a bald-faced liar who has put his loyalty to the White House and a neocon agenda above his loyalty to his oath, his country, and the Constitution and people he swore to protect.

But that's just me.

Yes, he's a loyal liar. But let's also be clear that the White House has its own reasons for keeping him on. They don't want a bunch of hearings for a new Attorney General. I wouldn't be surprised if Gonzales offered to quit and was told he can't. Now he's stuck.

If Congress had any cojones, they'd impeach his lying butt, followed by Dick and George.

As the protest sign says: "Can someone just give George a BJ so we can impeach him?"
