| Mag Girl | Posted 8/1/2007 4:58:16 PM | show profile 1. What do you crave? Dove milk chocolate! and understanding. 2. Do you believe in life after death? yes. I refuse to believe nothing at all happens. In my mind, there has to be a higher power somewhere- how else did something, the entire universe, come out of nothing? It just blows my mind. Not that that's hard. 3. What is the most beautiful thing you have seen in the past 24-hours? Two of my dogs playing with each other....so innocent. I would say the new girl at my office (drop-dead model gorgeous), but I'm raging jealous ;) 4. How many times have you been kissed this week? Every day, several times. I have a very affectionate husband! 5. What are you lacking? patience, a trust fund, savings and small hips. 6. What will you absolutely not tolerate? hate and bigotry. And people who won't let other cars merge in just out of spite. Seriously, there's room for all of us! 7. What modern-day musician do you think is a genius? I don't really know who I'd call a genius. 8. If you started a magazine, what would it be called? Bitch...wait, that's already taken. 9. Which celebrity do you wish would disappear for a while? There are too many to name just one. 10. How many countries have you visited? ten, I believe. ~Bonus Question~ If you sold your website for $23 million like Laurel did with Media Bistro, what would you do with the money? Take a nice long vacation travelling the world, and come back and write a book, and start a charity or give a lot to a few I already support. And use it to suuport me as I volunteer for political candidates. I'd also make sure all my family's big bills are paid up, and help out any close friends in need of assistance. |
| keltoi2 | Posted 8/1/2007 4:59:16 PM | show profile Nice batch, jbe. 1. What do you crave? Chocolate. 2. Do you believe in life after death? Yes. 3. Prince, Springsteen, McCartney and Lennon. 8. If you started a magazine, what would it be called? Keeping mum in case I ever do. 9. Which celebrity do you wish would disappear for a while?Almost all of them, but Paris and Britney are two gimmes. 10. How many countries have you visited? About 16 or so. ~Bonus Question~ If you sold your website for $23 million like Laurel did with Media Bistro, what would you do with the money? Take care of family first, travel, set up funding for investigative journalism, women's shelters, and a few things to help out my little town. |
| catlondon | Posted 8/1/2007 5:01:31 PM | show profile Mag Girl re: And people who won't let other cars merge in just out of spite. I have to ask, what if you been patiently waiting your turn in long line in the exit lane and someone whizzes up to the last possible merge point and cuts in? I hate that and never let anyone in. But I'm very generous in other merge situations. |
| Mag Girl | Posted 8/1/2007 5:09:34 PM | show profile Catlondon, I hate that too- in that instance, I will do everything I can to not let such a person merge in, even if that means I speed up/slow down/tailgate excessively. And if people are trying to whiz down the shoulder on an exit with a long line on the ramp, I will put my car halfway in such a position to where the person cannot get by. And I laugh and wave at them as they honk, and I sit there until they give up and merge back in. Ha. I am a believer in forced good/bad driver karma. |

Something...not sure what though. 6. What will you absolutely not tolerate? Being lied to. 7. What modern-day musician do you think is a genius? Beck. 8. Learn how to cook. And throw regular monthly parties. And, then develop a new business. |
| wineaux | Posted 8/1/2007 5:56:08 PM | show profile . What do you crave? Carbs, all of 'em. Pasta, potatoes, bread. Hence, my uh, curvy figure. 2. Do you believe in life after death? Absolutely 3. What is the most beautiful thing you have seen in the past 24-hours? My dog giving my son kisses after he thought that he was hurt. My dog looks ferocious, and can be, but is the most tolerant little dove around my children. 4. How many times have you been kissed this week? Many, by husband, children, and friends. They are an affectionate bunch. 5. What are you lacking? Furniture. My house looks like a dorm room since we moved to the NE. 6. What will you absolutely not tolerate? Rude children. 7. What modern-day musician do you think is a genius? Prince. I have a newfound appreciation for him since I saw him live back in L.A. He was thoroughly entertaining and is unbelievably creative. 8. If you started a magazine, what would it be called? don't know. I'm not very clever that way, but it would be about food. How to prepare simple, healthy foods, where to get them, and the hottest food companies and what they are all about. 9. Which celebrity do you wish would disappear for a while? Paris F'ing Hilton. WHY is she a celebrity, and WHY is she EVERYWHERE? """"""""""""YAWN""""""""""""""""""""""""" 10. How many countries have you visited? Sadly, only 3, but that will change if I ever have spare change. ~Bonus Question~ If you sold your website for $23 million like Laurel did with Media Bistro, what would you do with the money? TRAVEL. Anywhere and everywhere. Give my mother and my other closest family members what they would need, and then open a restaurant. Then, I'd write all of those cookbooks and wine books I've always been wishing I had the time to research and write. |
| writesonwater | Posted 8/1/2007 6:40:04 PM | show profile | email poster First of all, I want to write for Frump. Please let me be in your (frumpy) stable of writers. 1. What do you crave? a better wardrobe. 2. Do you believe in life after death? Yes. 3. What is the most beautiful thing you have seen in the past 24-hours? The lake. I wanted to stay, but I couldn't == had to get back to the real world. 4. How many times have you been kissed this week? I've had an upper respiratory thing going on, so none. 5. What are you lacking? I wish I had more resources for my family. We're not poor, I'd love to be more "comfortable." 6. What will you absolutely not tolerate? bigotry is the ugliest thing I can think of. 7. What modern-day musician do you think is a genius? Gordon Lightfoot. John Denver. Karen Carpenter. Not exactly modern day ... 8. If you started a magazine, what would it be called? Frump is already taken. Dawg, maybe. Ooh, no: howabout a magazine on shopping in Britain, for expats and enthusiasts, and call it The British Aisles? 9. Which celebrity do you wish would disappear for a while? Paris Hilton has no use that I can see- - she needs to get a life. I fear for Lindsay Lohan's safety because of her addictions. People shouldn't encourage her antics and use words like naughty. She's close to a point of no return. 10. How many countries have you visited? Just three. Sigh. Want to go to Italy, France, the British Isles and Norway at least. ~Bonus Question~ If you sold your website for $23 million like Laurel did with Media Bistro, what would you do with the money? Buy decent (not expensive) cars and clothes and homes for me and mine. Take care of family first, and extended family, with a fund for scholarships for nieces and nephews and friends, etc. I wouldn't have it be a foundation (just using the interest) but a couple of million that would spend down, because I think that's a profound way to set people on a path to being able to educate their own kids better. Set money in a secure place to dip into for retirement. Maybe start a publishing company (non-fiction books). Although I'm going to do that anyway, so maybe if I had a pile of money I wouldn't. Although yes, I'm aware, it's not the way to make a pile of money. Make a difference in a few towns I have ties to. I like the idea of buildings, like museums or tennis centers, that sort of thing. Fund a couple development efforts my nephews are involved with. Travel with family and friends. Pick somewhere cool and move there with family. |
| Janetblueyes | Posted 8/1/2007 7:13:37 PM | show profile 1. What do you crave? Stimulating conversation, a real hug, serenity and a Mc Donald's Filet-O-Fish. 2. Do you believe in life after death? Absolutely. I'm an old soul who has lived several times prior. 3. What is the most beautiful thing you have seen in the past 24-hours? The sun shining off the hazel irises of my Labrador. Pure magic. 4. How many times have you been kissed this week? Not many--perhaps twice. Dry pecks they were too. 5. What are you lacking? A bra that really supports; and the confindence that I can make it through a grueling 9-month advanced EMT course I begin in a few weeks. 6. What will you absolutely not tolerate? A thong wedged up my ass. Also, writers that plagiarize. 7. What modern-day musician do you think is a genius? Stevie Wonder, Tori Amos, Elton John, Prince. 8. If you started a magazine, what would it be called? "Random" 9. Which celebrity do you wish would disappear for a while? The usual celebutards. I'm also really sick of Eva Longoria and her whole wedding crap; and the arrival of the Beckhams. 10. How many countries have you visited? 11. ~Bonus Question~ If you sold your website for $23 million like Laurel did with Media Bistro, what would you do with the money? Start an alpaca farm in Vermont; take a world cruise in first class accomondations aboard Cunard's Queen Elizabeth; but a cottage in Ireland; purchase a CT scan machine for my local veterinarian's office; donate heaps to Lance Armstrong's Live Strong Foundation; get a nose job. |
| Janetblueyes | Posted 8/1/2007 7:24:03 PM | show profile Writesonwater- I think your title "The British Aisles" is absolutely brilliant! |
| Stephanerd3 | Posted 8/1/2007 7:51:22 PM | show profile | email poster 1. What do you crave? Sleep. I'm working two jobs for the next two weeks, and it's throwing me off-balance. 2. What modern-day musician do you think is a genius? Regina Spektor, whose voice is magically more than one measly instrument 8. If you started a magazine, what would it be called? Funny you ask. Me and two colleagues of mine are attempting to start up a web mag, and we're absolute crap at coming up with names. Our first stab at a name was threeblondes.org, until someone mentioned that it sounded like a porn site. 9. Which celebrity do you wish would disappear for a while? God, so many. Lindsay Lohan, I suppose. I wish her career would officially fall apart, if only to prove to the other wild-as-hell starlets that you can't get away with everything just because you're famous. But that's just crazy-talk. 10. How many countries have you visited? um...was it three? the UK...Austria...Canada...god, was there anywhere else? ~Bonus Question~ If you sold your website for $23 million like Laurel did with Media Bistro, what would you do with the money? Pay off the student loans, purchase a house, and put my all into a wild web universe of start-up blogs. I'd probably become a cat lady, too. Because I'd be able to afford more of the veterinary bills. ------ steph - contains multitudes, yet still spends most of her time with the copy machine. www.stephiswrite.com |

| Stephanerd3 | Posted 8/1/2007 7:54:49 PM | show profile | email poster Crap. I missed one. What will I absolutely not tolerate? The mad ravings of egotistical authors. No more, I say. I resigned from my position as marketing associate for an academic book publisher just this past Friday, and am looking forward to the solitude of a part time gig proofreading at a daily paper downtown, and freelance writing from home. ------ steph - contains multitudes, yet still spends most of her time with the copy machine. www.stephiswrite.com |

But yes, I've really been there). So I think that's... 24 total? Bonus: If I sold a webaite for that much money, I'd retire at the ripe old age of 24 and travel the world even more than I have. Where I want to go, for anyone who's interested: Mexica, South Africa, Scotland, Ireland, Greece, the Netherlands, Denmark, Morocco, the Czech Republic, Russia, India, Thailand, Costa Rica, the western part of the United States. |
| writesonwater | Posted 8/1/2007 9:21:44 PM | show profile Thanks, Janet! ;) Titles and headlines have never been a problem for me. One time I was working on a state campaign, and we were all supposed to bring 3 slogan ideas to the table. I brought a sheet with 100. There was dead silence, and people snuck the list into their papers later so they could have ideas in reserve. (They asked. I was fine with that- -- ideas are like Doritos -- crunch all you want. We'll make more) |
