Topic: Following Up TOO Much?

Unlike previous posts that I've read complaining about following up after an interview & being ignored, quite the opposite is happening to me. I interviewed w/ someone from HR, really hit it off, & he said he'd highly recommend me to the hiring editor. I heard nothing, so I let a few weeks go by & sent him an e-mail to see if I was still in the running. He said that I was still being considered & that the hiring editor would be setting up second round interviews the following week & that I had nothing to worry about. Well, that was 2 weeks ago. My question is: Should I sit tight & assume no news is good news, or should I follow up yet again? I don't want to be a pain in the butt, but I really, really want this job. Thanks!

I don't see anything wrong with following up. Checking in with the editor doesn't make you overbearing; sending four emails a day does. Simply call or email and ask the status of the second round of interviews. Good luck.

There's no harm in following up again. The HR person said the hiring editor would set up interviews at a certain time, and that time has passed with no word. No one could fault you for checking in now.

follow up, but this time ask for a time frame and a date about when and if to check back. Go ahead and say, I know you're busy, I don't want to harass you with inquiries, so when should I follow up? Should I follow up?
After that, if they don't give a date, and just say, don't call us we'll call you, then do exactly that. There's only so much youcan do--if they want you,. they'll come get you. Meanwhile, start applying elsewhere. Another job offer could work in your favor when they finally get around to making a decision about your candidacy.
