Topic: Seeking women's stories about family secrets

| natchili | Posted – 8/1/2007 8:31:19 PM | show profile I string for a national women's magazine, and I'm seeking anecdotes from women age 20-40 about the secrets they've learned about their families, either while growing up or as an adult. This could include secrets about adoptions, parentage, marriages, criminal pasts, shady jobs, how parents met, serious illnesses, etc. I'm particularly interested in a story about a woman who discovered her "big sister" was in fact her mother, but I'm open to hearing about all secrets! I'll need about a paragraph describing the secret and how the woman found out about it, her reaction, etc. It is totally fine for the women to remain anonymous, however, I'll need everyone's name and contact info (phone number and email) so editors can contact her to fact-check if they decide to use the story in the magazine. If the woman is fine with revealing her identity, I'll also need her age and current town along with her name and contact information. My due date for this is August 7.
