| gary.goodwin | Posted 8/7/2007 11:42:44 AM | show profile | email poster Web Content Specialist - General Description Silver Spring, Maryland The M-NCPPC (Montgomery County) is looking for a Web Content Specialist to create new content, update and repurpose existing content. The Web Content Specialist (WCS) will incorporate content into static and dynamic Web pages, interactive databases, Flash video, audio and video production, and DVD/CD production. The WCS will assist with the development and management of the site editorial ?voice? and style, the editorial calendar, re-purposing of existing and future print materials for use on the Web, encourage external parties to link and use our Web site, and assist M-NCPPC staff to be more frequent contributors to the agency?s Web site. The WCS will also monitor and help enforce Web graphic, content and text standards. The Web Content Specialist (WCS) will work as part of a board-skilled Web Team and its manager. In addition to these M-NCPPC staff, the WCS will work with a wide variety of staff across the Department of Parks and the Planning Department. Education and Experience Requirements: Candidate must have excellent writing and information organization skills; experience in daily content programming and production of a web site; strong editorial and programming judgment; and strong analytical skills. The ideal candidate has a drive for development of content that is timely, compelling, and trustworthy. The position requires excellent organizational, writing/editing, and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills, ability to work within a team and cross-team, ability to balance multiple projects and multiple deadlines are a must. Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Journalism, English, Communications or a field related to the subject area with significant course work in Web Internet content and design/navigability. Experience in a similar role may be substituted for degree. Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in Web site content management. Must have computer user skills and knowledge of Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Contribute is highly desirable. Experience working with a team and independently on projects/aspects of projects required. Demonstrated experience and skill working with people at varying organizational and educational attainment levels is highly desirable.
