Anyway, how should prepare for interview, when I don't know anything about the magazine? What should I wear? This will my very first interview for I guess what could be a career move- I've got writing samples that have been published, but that's as far as my experience goes. What should I do? Help/tips are greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! |

I once interviewed with Playboy when it was in Chicago wearing a coat and tie in the middle of summer, when the best-dressed editorial person there was the one wearing socks. Still, the HR person was professionally dressed, as you should be. Beyond that, look at what other "mens lifestyle" mags cover -- cars, electrionics, sports, fashion, etc. -- and bring clips that you can relate to that tone and content (assuming this is an editorial-related job and not just an administrative-assistant position where you'll just be opening mail and compiling comp lists. |
