Interviewing for a job at DJ and wondering what the general opinion is on the company post-merger ... as in, a good idea to consider a job there if things are changing hands? Will definitely talk about this in the interview, but am curious in advance. Also - any salary-type thoughts? Do they offer a good deal?

It's WAY too early to tell ...
...but Dow Jones salaries for journalists have always been notoriously low.

I doubt things will be different under Murdoch. FOX salaries are the worst in the broadcast industry.

The salaries are not that low, but I'm sure that depends where you are and your job.

It still has a good reputation for business journalism, so if that's what you want to do, do it.

Good luck.

Not Bad
Whatever changes will occur post-Murdoch will take time, so I agree that if you're into business journalism, it's a good place. I worked there for a long time and lived all over the world. It was big enough that if my interests changed, I could move within the company to follow them. Morale wasn't perfect, but the people were great, the pay was fine and I had an interesting run.
