forget the niche (special interest) magazines - stick to stuff that is more general, like New york or Vanity Fair.

i don't have any interest in receiving W Magazine either. I didn't mind receiving Wired the first year. It gave me a chance to explore what it was, but know I'm ready to move on to something new. I wouldn't mind New York, if it only came once a month.

I agree with the others who said that they woud like to see a variety of choices.

In response to your other mag suggestion, I wouldn't mind getting Gourmet (or was it Bon Appetit?) for a while. I'd also be interested in Bust, Travel and Leisure, En Route, ... maybe City ...

What's important to me is that I have the ability to opt out at the end of the yea if it's something I'm no longer interested in, like wired.

New Yorker would be great.

re: new mag suggestions
I'm interested in Bon Appetit and not at all interested in W. But I think both are odd choices, very specific-interest magazines. I agree that Vanity Fair or Harper's would be better.

By the way, I'm opting out (I hope) of New York and Wired. I wrote to them both within the 30-day period and enclosed a copy of my membership confirmation. So far I've received 3 issues of New York and none of Wired. I'd rather save the 20 bucks and pick my own subscriptions.

Please keep New York
Thank you!

I know I am coming into this discussion late.... but is the option of choosing between 3 or 4 titles even a possibility? That is something I would like to see.

Can't stand New York. I can't keep up with it and feel bad that most of them are going into the recycling bin. Haven't seen Wired come yet...

I also think something associated with writing or the business in general might be more helpful. Thanks for asking though!

Keep Wired, Toss New York
I'm no longer based in New York, so I don't really enjoy NY mag. I'd rather have Wired over New York. I [heart] Vanity Fair.

What about Utne Reader? They print articles from all sorts of alternative presses, which means that writers can find out about different magazines that might not be at Barnes and Noble -- or might be tucked behind more glossy mags.

Poets and Writers? Granta? The Sun?

No to "W." Also, no to Bon Appetite -- but yes to Cooks Illustrated if you're going to offer a food mag.
