So Beaumont Books (?) is going to publish O.J.'s confession. I predict that the book will hit the top five on the NY Times list the first week it's on bookshelves.

Anyone see Eric Kampmann (the publisher) and Denise Brown on "The Today Show" this morning? Kampmann tried to defend his decision to publish the book, but Brown basically handed him his ass. The book will still sell like hotcakes, though.

I'm curious to hear what others think about this development....

What the fuck is Beaumont Books?
I've never heard of them, and I know the indies pretty damn well, better that the average person in this business.

Everyone will want to read the book (or at least scan through it), but no one will actually buy it. I think they'll have many returns with this book.

I don't think this book will sell as well as they expect it to. We already know he did it. I have no desire to read about it...what's left to say? Nothing I care to know.

Everyone will want to read the book?

Not me.

And nobody I know will read it.

You know what I mean. Curiosity to see what is said about the actual murders. Its human nature, like looking at a car crash. But I surely won't pay for it. Maybe I'll read that page in the bookstore.

It is crass and obscene that he had the gall to write such a book, an arrogant flip of the bird to everyone.

The publisher should be ashamed of himself for making money on the deaths of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman.
I am surprised that the Goldman family bought into it. Any money that comes from this disgusting tome will have the blood of Nicole and Ron on it.

I do not look at car crashes nor would I entertain the idea of caring what this narcissistic psychopath has to say. With all the murderers out there in the US, why oh why is this guy still alive and freewheeling his way through life?

Again, what is Beaumont Books?
Never heard of them, so I wonder if they even exist.

Ah, never mind. I googled.
And I see it is the Goldman family publishing it, having been awarded the rights. I guess the Goldmans like money.

According to this post, which I'm NOT LISTING IN ITS ENTIRETY OUT OF RESPECT FOR COPYRIGHTS there's some in-fighting among the Goldmans about the book.

Nice to see others share my feelings on this

Even Barnes and Noble doesn't expect demand to be high for this nasty book,

Pfft...
There is demand, more so than the typical book which will release that week.

BN made a decision based on PR, and that is certainly legit."No intersst" is bs.

Yes
the book will still sell, and people who may have felt weird about buying it before will feel more comfy knowing it is lining the Goldman family pocket instead of paying for OJ's latest golf course membership.
