Topic: Is August a bad time to search for freelance gigs

It has been a couple of years since I worked at a magazine in the summer time. I'm wondering: Is it better to wait until September to contact copy chiefs and research editors? Is everyone in the magazine world working on Oct/Nov issues or hanging out at the beach? Thanks! P.S. Thank you to all those who wrote back to me about working in Italy. My fiancé, soon to be husband, did not end up getting the leave time (and package) he wanted from the university, so we are here for while. Hence, this message! |

For instance, you might think everyone is out on Christmas Eve shopping, but it might actually be a quiet time in the office when an editor will be receptive to a phone all. There really isn't any reason to wait. |
