Should we add a commenting option to our blogs? Would you weigh in on the latest TVNewser breaking story or GalleyCat signing?

We'd love to hear from you, so let us know what you think. Don't be shy. It will be fun.

Yes, open up the comments
For me, the best blogs are conversations between readers and author(s) and that means allowing comments.

I say why not? But I'd definitely recommend that you monitor the responses -- some have an approval system prior to posting, for example.

Definitely do Comments
Its more interesting to read things online when you can read people's comments too. It seems arcane to have content on the web without reader comments.

yes
all the best blogs allow for comments. it's part of what's interesting about reading them -- and having to navigate away and hunt through the message boards for a relevant thread takes away from the immediacy of what makes a blog fun to read.

To comment or not to comment
I write two blogs, and comments make it much more of a conversation than a one-way editorial. That's the advantage of the Internet -- immediate response is possible, unlike traditional newspapers where a Letter to the Editor may take days to appear...or not at all. Constant comment for one and all!

Yes--please allow comments. I'd be likely to read the blogs more often. and look at how much fun they have over at gawker.com?

A comment on your comment question
When you stop and think about it, you won't get any 'no, don't include comments' responses, because the folks not in favor are not commenters to begin with. Only those who enjoy commenting are going to comment (respond), and their comments would surely only be in favor.

I agree, comments are interesting and enlightening and fun to read. And especially for a media blog ? I think your readership would have something to say.
