What's his name? Larry Craig. Were's he from? -Idaho. What's he like ? The feel of a bathroom meat stogie!
Iron Eagle Posted – 8/27/2007 6:41:12 PM | show profile
It seems Larry's been nailed before. My, my - what's with this party of bathroom hungry men?
ManhattanMatt Posted – 8/27/2007 6:50:01 PM | show profile
Because ...
...they don't have the freedom to be out in the open, meeting and dating men ... like Democrats do.
Iron Eagle Posted – 8/27/2007 7:44:48 PM | show profile
Matt - how should they go about obtaining their freedom? Go to Boy George for guidance?

Really fellas, put your partisanship aside for this topic....
sadly, it is not just Republicans or Democrats who are
guilty of these hideous crimes, it is priests, fathers, uncles,
grandfathers, next door neighbours, teachers, coaches, etc.

Find something else to fight about like who has the biggest
penis. This is all really just a pissing game is it not? You guys
go on and on and on, every day.

"Hey Crimepuppy, Why don't you ask Barney Frank about sex crimes? From what I heard, he had a male escort service in his partment and supposely he didn't know about it..."

And this, from 15 years ago, mitigates a Senator having sex in a public place, where a small child could walk in at any moment, how?
Iron Eagle Posted – 8/27/2007 11:16:36 PM | show profile
GOP Gay Old Predators...

Larry Craig was accosting kids back in 1982 - they were called pages! Barney Frank has never been accused of any crime. Frank has a partner - Craig hides in toilet stalls looking for a peek and tweak.

Good point, crimedog. I've got a new name for guys like Craig, perhaps you'll like it: Restroom Republicans.
Iron Eagle Posted – 8/27/2007 11:22:49 PM | show profile
The closer these guys get to church the harder it is to resist another man's loins. I never understood this about Republicans. Perhaps Olby can enlighten us.

Nikongirl ...
"Hideous crime"??

What are you talking about?
robsemail Posted – 8/27/2007 11:40:41 PM | show profile
Matt, you don't consider having sex in public, where any small child might walk in on the act, to be a hideous crime?

Let me guess. You're a republican!
ManhattanMatt Posted – 8/28/2007 12:36:16 AM | show profile
No.
I would term torture and dismemberment as "hideous".

Sex in public is merely "inappropriate".
robsemail Posted – 8/28/2007 1:06:05 AM | show profile
Using a salad fork to eat steak is inappropriate. Having sex in public is hideous.

Do society a favor. Don't have kids.

"Hideous crime"
So in the minds of ManhattanMatt's detractors, what exactly IS the "hideous crime"?

1) gay sex in public? OR
2) any kind of sex in public?

Just curious...

chucho Posted – 8/28/2007 5:52:45 AM | show profile
I use a salad fork for everything. I hate the pretenses of having a utensil for every specific thing.

Oh, and in my early 20s I had sex a couple of times with a male freind. It was only then I realized with certainty my preference for women.

When I tell conservatives this, I can almost see the yearning in their eyes, the jealousy. "What was it like? Maybe I would like that too?"

This is why it's so much fun to point out the hypocrisy of these Republicans pushing the anti-gay agenda while dreamimg about PAYING $20 to be face-f**ked in a public bathroom like that one Republican lawmaker in Florida.

I find it quite humorous, actually. Also: I'm immune to the homophones on this board tossing out gay slurs. But fire away if you wanna!

confirmed
Iron Eagle Posted – 8/28/2007 7:44:39 AM | show profile
"Hideous Crime? " Now that's a stretch! What we have is a guy with a long history of bathroom follies. It's sort of the centerpiece of Republican morality. Since most are white men and quite effeminate it comes as no surprise. They do have pretty lips!
chucho Posted – 8/28/2007 8:15:52 AM | show profile
Confirmed indeed. The funny thing about sexuality is it's kinda like culinary preferences, or talking about places you visit.

Joe: I HATE pistachio ice cream!

Me: Have you ever tried it?

Joe: No. But it sounds disgusting!

Me: I tried it. I don't really like it, but you might. because that might explain your infatuation for the the color. Your wallpaper is pistachio green. Your car is pistachio green. Your desktop wallpaper is a pistachio tree.

** OR **

Joe: I hate the American Southwest! Everyone there should go to hell!

Me: Have you ever been there?

Joe: No, but it just sounds awful!

** ** * *

This is essentially what these repressed conservatives are doing with sexuality. They're so freaked out about it, but they're also afraid that they would actually like the gay lifestyle so they reject it upfront. How do you know you don't like pistachio ice cream if you haven't tried it?

Obviously there seems to be more Republican conservatives that are in the closet about their love for pistachio ice cream. They're scared s**tless about this so they over-compensate publicly by pushing anti-gay agendas.

I think this also fits well into the American evangelical Christian mindset. You know how, like, almost every movie Mel Gibson stars in involves him in a Christ-like fall from grace for which he pays a price, usually by being beaten senseless or tortured and killed?

These closet Republicans I think share a similar mentality regarding their sexual proclivities: they "bear the cross" of their desire to be buggered in public bathrooms while trying to save others from this terrible temptation. They become the "sacrifice", if you will, so that others are saved from this sin. It's a very self-aggrandizing mindset. It's also incredibly hypocritical.

Conservatives should think about that the next time they use that lame attack where they accuse liberals of being homophones for underscoring conservatives' who are closet homosexuals. We do that because these conservatives that like to have penises in their mouths, like to bugger or be buggered by underage page boys, and dress up like women are evil for pushing agendas that oppress their fellow homosexuals.

I'll concede the point that the phrase "hideous crime" might be a bit much for this case. However, either word taken on its own does indeed apply. Combining them makes an implicit comparison between this and other crimes, and in that respect I'll agree that this isn't quite as bad as torture or dismemberment.

But what the senator did certainly is hideous, if for no other reason than the potential for someone, particularly a child, to walk in on the act. Here's the American Heritage Dictionary definition for hideous:

1. Repulsive, especially to the sight; revoltingly ugly. See synonyms at ugly.
2. Offensive to moral sensibilities; despicable.

Walking in on Senator Craig sucking some guy off would indeed be repulsive to me, and I'm gay.

Woa! This just in. He was working for Mitt Romney's campaign. He's been turfed! I guess he was trying to get a hand on those swing votes.

chucho why are you so insanely obsessed with Christians??

Every single post ,day after day, Christians this, bash Christians on that.

Evil Christians are not out to get you.

Have you sought professional help ?

I agree, perhaps my initial post of hideous crime was a bit too strong, what Larry Craig did is nonetheless a crime.

So if his offence..the one he PLEAD GUILTY to, was in fact the simple gesturing of running his hand under the stall and moving his foot towards the person, is it not possible the person in the next stall was an innocent young man, maybe a teenager or child? It is also not his first offence in this area but just one of several. The guy is a predator.

This is the same guy who voted against same sex marriage and legislation to protect gay and lesbian hate crimes. Funny eh?

Not being a man, I had no idea that running ones hand under the stall and moving ones foot towards the next stall is well known to be an invitation to anonymous sex in a bathroom. For women a hand is under the stall means we need toilet paper.

The sad thing is, that it is not openly gay men who commit this sort of crime, but married guys with children who feel the need to engage in anonymous sex with strangers in stinky bathrooms, cars, laneways or parks. They are cowards who are too afraid to be openly gay. That is our fucked up societies fault. I actually feel sad for all the men in the world who are too afraid to be gay, just imagine if the shoe were on the other foot and all the hetros in the world had to pretend they were gay.

Larry Craigs wife and children are probably already filing papers for divorce after how many times he has been caught. One can only be forgiving of this kind of misunderstanding so many times before the assets are divvied up.

** Please note the lack of correct grammatical accents because on this board they all show up as question marks and really screw up the way a post reads. You would think that writers on a professional writers board would be able to use correct grammatical accents.

***Olby WHY are you so incessantly obsessed with the Chappaquiddick tragedy? Can you not find enough dirt on Democrats to bring up news that is NOT 38 years old? The man was drunk, he had an accident and a young girl died because of it, do you not think this has haunted Kennedy throughout his entire life? What exactly would you like him to do? Cut his throat and bleed in front of you so you can continue to feel holier than thou? Do you always have to act like an idiot in every post?

I saw this story hit the wire and knew it would be a fun morning in the TV News Corner!

I deleted some posts that were unrelated to the story at hand, and given the history of this forum I want to say straight out that I will ban the first person I see using any kind of homophobic slur. I will also ban the second person, and so on.

I'd also like to bring up that my favorite part of this story is that (according to the police report) after the Senator's foot tapping and hand waving, the arresting officer just "put his police identification down by the floor so Craig could see it." It's the kind of ironic arrest remark (albeit nonverbal) that I thought only Lenny Brisco could pull off.

Very funny. Must have been quite a surprise for the Senator. I bet he would have shit his pants if he was not already on the toilet. ;-)
