I just found out that I'm going to Spain for work and will have 5 days on my own at the end of the trip. I'll have Oct 12-17 to do whatever. Of course, I'm paying for that part on my own so I've got to think budget. I'm starting out in Bilbao and ending in Madrid, but other than that, I have no plans. Any advice on the best way to get around and where to go? I'll have already been to Barcelona/Pamplona/San Sebastian.

I'd really appreciate direction! I want to do it all, but am at a loss on what the best use of my time/money would be.

Thanks!!

I spend it in Madrid (I'm going to Madrid and Granada Oct. 19 to Nov 5). Hotel Laura seems like a good price, located in the center. Get around within Spain on the Renve bullet train and in Madrid on the subway. I'm def. going to the Goya museum.

If you are in the Barcelona area (I knowyou said you've been there before) but there is this fantastic beach resort town called Sitges, about an hour (I think) south of Barcelona.

It will be a little near the end of the season there at that time but it is the most incredible gorgeous place. Beautiful beaches, (tops optional, of course) great tapas, little bars, dance clubs, wonderful restauraunts.
