| EQL | Posted 8/31/2007 9:45:20 AM | show profile Does this focus on the Chicago Manual of Style? I don't use the CMS. I use the AP Style Guide, so it would not work for me. I am interested in editing certificate. Do you know of any editing certificates that are online? |
| Jukester | Posted 8/31/2007 11:53:56 AM | show profile Yes, it focuses on the Chicago Manual of Style and is more oriented toward book editing. I know AP style from being a newspaper reporter; I'm not sure if anyone else uses it besides newspapers. When I wrote my book, I had to revise it to change it from AP to CMS. And, no, I don't know of any online courses. I live in Chicago, so it's no problem for me to attend the classes. |

Learning has one course in ms. editing: Program Independent Learning - University of Wisconsin Extension Course Name C350-A52 Fundamentals of Manuscript Editing. You have to search around a bit on the site to find it, but it's there. Also, I think UCal San Diego has some online courses. USDA, strange as it may seem, offers editing, proofing, and indexing courses. Some may be online. |
