Topic: Pitch Freelance Marketplace more on Home Page

| writesonwater | Posted – 8/30/2007 11:56:37 PM | show profile I don't know if anyone's brought this up, but it strikes me that both Freelance Marketplace and the Jobs Links need to be pitched in a bigger way on the mediabistro homepage. Currently the buttons for them are mousy and easily go unnoticed. Since these are both paying propositions for MB, it might be good to pitch them more prominently than a single ladder of info going down the left side of the page. Even a bolder color (Black with BIGGER WHITE LETTERS?) would help. Just a thought. |

I'm a travel writer and you have to look hard for us. The featured freelancer idea was also a good one, however, curious as to why the same freelancers appear all the time... every time I've returned the last few times, the same person has been featured. |

There is a homepage redesign currently in the works, and as membership director, I am scrapping for every piece of real estate I can get to promote AvantGuild and Freelance Marketplace, but obviously, there are a number of different factors we need to consider -- not just what makes the most money, but what users actually want to click on. As for Featured Freelancer, that's an old module that has to be updated manually. We'll seen begin beta testing a different way of featuring profiles, similar to what you currently see with Jobs and Courses.
