when I spotted them in Gristede's the other day, my first thought was oh, yum, it has been a very, very long time since Easter. I don't understand why they don't make red white and blue Uncle Sam peeps for 4th of July. Anyway the bite-sized pumpkins are perfect for a breakfast snack. Happy Halloween!

i'm guessing the Uncle Sam peeps would turn out lavendar, at best ... to get those dark colors, anyway, they'd have to be LOADED with food coloring ..

Speaking of Peeps and halloween, as a woman who has made some vERY creative Halloween costumes for my kids in my day, how about using foam to make a giant Peep costume?

But do pumpkin Peeps taste like pumpkin pie?
nellie bly Posted – 9/12/2007 7:47:40 PM | show profile
nope, they taste like ordinary peeps
remember the gingerbread people shaped peeps at Christmastime? they were advertised as having a Christmas cookie flavor, but it was kind of subtle. those guys were the only peeps that I recall having a special flavor

there's a Peeps message board too, but I can't see any of the messages. maybe it's my popup blocker?
keltoi2 Posted – 9/13/2007 3:22:47 PM | show profile
No, it's a Peepup blocker.

I tried the new individually wrapped peeps, and they are gross and smell and taste like chemicals.
