Topic: Staffing Agency Offices Sharing Emplyee Info?

I freelanced for an agency in another city and am considering applying for a position through their sister office in my current location. However, there's a bit of a problem, since I had a negative experience at my former (long-term temp) position. Will that former experience impact my chances of getting this new one? Do agencies keep databases of former employees from different cities? I'm just wondering. To be clear, I don't have a long history of problems with coworkers--this was an isolated incident. |

The one I worked at had a centralized computer system that all offices would link into, so all would have access to your record...and depending on how negative that experience was, they might not want to work with you again, regardless of the city. At my agency, it would be things like not showing up for an assignment, or doing something illegal such as drugs or theft, at the client site. Pam |

But it had nothing to do with my work performance. I'm just hoping there's nothing in my file about it. |

There was no coordination between them (i.e., they had no idea I had worked through one agency when I applied at the second). For that matter, what do you have to lose by applying? |
