Recently, UPI has been labeled as anti-gay because of a recent article that came through our news feed from NAN, the Nigerian government's news agency. I would like to make clear that no UPI reporter contributed to this article in any manner. Nor does the article reflect the views held by UPI management.

Almost immediately upon learning of the content of this article, I personally saw to it that the article was removed from the UPI news feed. I am the Director of Web Development at UPI, and also an openly gay man in all aspects of my life including the workplace.

I can attest to the lack of anti-gay sentiments at UPI.

Sincerely,

Michael Upright
Director of Web Development

Michael,
this is about something else....Can you tell me an email address for UPI to notify the editors when there is an error in an article? Last month, UPI and a no. of other news venues picked up a story from the NY Post which had an error about a client's company. Although I was able to easily find the contact info for the other venues on the same page and they corrected the mistake, I could not find the UPI contact on the page with the article. So the NY POST story with the misinformation continued to be spread by UPI. It really would be helpful if news media put a contact address at the bottom of the page. yes, one can search the co website, but sometimes even if you search, the info is not on the website. The NY Post, for example. I had to call them and considering all the trouble they caused, were very uncooperative.

UPI
No, it's just UPI's president--who says gays are "dung-eating dogs."
