MSNBC's Keith Olbermann picked the racist scab first on Monday's Countdown. Then on Tuesday's Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough tried to bloody the wound. Both poked at an observation from FOX News Channels Bill O'Reilly about his dining experience with Reverand Al Sharpton.

O'Reilly: "I was up in Harlem a few weeks ago. We went to Sylvia's, a very famous restaurant in Harlem. I had a great time, people were tremendously respectful. And I couldn't get over the fact that there was no difference between Sylvia's restaurant and any other restaurant in New York City. I mean it was exactly the same, even though it's run by blacks, primarily about a black patronship, it was the same. And that's really what this society is all about now, here in the USA. There's no dfference, there's no diffference!"

Scarborough appeared incredulous and replayed the Radio Factor soundbite twice while co-host Willie Geist added his colorblind commentary.

Geist: "He (O'Reilly) sounded surprised that it was like civilized, they had waiters and table cloths. What was he expecting, you walk in, they throw the food in the middle of the room and everybody just (Geist flails his arms in the air)everybody just zi - zi - zi...free for all, like what did he think was gonna happen."

Scarborough: "He [O'Reilly] was also surprised I guess that they were quote, tremendously respectful. That's just strange, that's all I'm gonna say... Listen, O'Reilly's the King of cable, he's been number 1 for six years. Um, that is fascinating and I'm sure we're going to be hearing more about that ah, throughout the day. He could not get over the fact that there was no difference, even though the restaurant was run by black people, it is, that is shocking. Whew... so, I've got chills right now going up and down my back. I, I'm gonna throw it over to you all, I'm gonna go take a shower."

My conclusion... make that a cold shower Joe!
And the rest of the MSNBC cast might wanna' pop a chill pill. But since they've bloodied the waters of racist interpretation, the sharks might want to interpret the racial rants of MSNBC.

Newzaroo, what's your point? You don't think questioning O'Reilly's statements was justified?

O'Reilly lives in a bubble suit - what do you expect? This is why he has no credibility. He's a thoroughly prejudice talking boot who recognizes only his voice over the earth's billions. In fact, he believes refugee camps are where dollar stores began.

Frank - allow the man a moment of discovery. This is helpful.

He now understands that black America doesn't sit around lunch counters snorting crack - screaming for Ho's and aiming fire arms at each others heads before downing chicken wings.

The man has always existed in a bubble like Lunch Limbaugh. They see their world of isolation and opinion as being fact - a self-serving reality. The world is much different than how media sensationalizes. People in most places are quite similar in their desire for safety - comfort - security and prosperity. O'Reilly would discover that the nicest homes are maintained by those with so little to bargain.

You had to have seen it
Seems like most posts did not actually see Oreilly when he made the statement. It was obvious that Oreilly was being sarcastic. O'Reilly is constantly harping about the media's coverage of black culture portraying it as thug-life only. He was basically stating... how is this possible, the rappers and media give us a perception of black culture in America as being criminal, vulgar and victimized. Yet, in reality, here we have a successful black owned and black patronized restaurant without any signs of this over zealous and harsh stereotypical portrayment of blacks. HOW CAN THIS BE???? Are the media and rappers lying to us to progress their own advancement???? LOL c'mon people...

I just watched the clip. There is no was this was sarcasm..he went on for 2 minutes about it. Would be one thing if he just made a statement, but do you really think a 2 minute conversation with a guest was all in sarcasm? I'm not saying o'reilly is a racist, in fact I don't think he is, but sarcasm it was not

"just like the dems...
Why, BOR almost sounded as bad as Joe Biden with his racist remarks... at least he didnt add a fake southern accent (a la Hillary).

I do agree with you Frank.I was waiting for the fake southern accent to kick in like Ms. Bill Clinton uses.

I disagree with you on the "just like the democrats" remark. If this had been a democrat saying this than the media would have either not said anything about it or defend the remarks.
But since its BOR than they will attack him.
One of the media double standards.

"There wasn't one person in Sylvia's who was screaming, 'M-Fer, I want more iced tea.' -- Bill O'Reilly

Expect no apologies from BOR. Expect FOX not to pressure BOR for an apology. Expect no African American to call for an apology. That is the sad state this country finds itself in.

Sarcasm? My ass. Listen to the entire transcript. There is not an inkling of sarcasm. Surprise? Yes, on BOR's part because he was astonished an African American owned restaurant could be 'civil' or 'normal', obviously showing his complete ignorance, arrogance, and lack of understanding of another race.

What is ironic, BOR always calls on people to do the right thing. Stand-up and 'do the right thing.' Why doesn't he stand-up and issue an apology. Practice what you preach? Oh, that would require character, and that is something BOR is greatly lacking.

Don't forget about liberal democrat leader Al Sharpton's words---
"bloodsucking Jews" and "Jew bastards"
"white interloper"

you're a freak! i'm not even a democrat and yet you've decided that anyone who heard that as potential racist is a lib dem? Thats a real open minded way to go through life..part of the solution or part of the problem I guess.

If I like the patriots am I then a liberal dem because ted kennedy is the senator of Massachusetts?

pay attention...nobody said anything about political parties until you responded "just like dems".
Iron Eagle Posted – 9/26/2007 12:30:24 PM | show profile
quest .. it's poison. Everything has to be them against us. It's the kind of mindset you get when straving wolves are throw red meat. it has nothing to do with democrats. What O'Reilly said comes from his own ignorance of the world and it's peoples. He lives in a shoe and basks in his own foul odors.
