| redsocks | Posted 9/25/2007 7:36:39 PM | show profile I'll be your host for this evening's game. I'd like to say welcome to all contestants...everyone can play, no purchase necessary. There is a current MB job posting for an Associate Editor position at Outside magazine. I love this magazine and love the Santa Fe area (where Outside is located), but the salary might be a step down...then again, I don't know. What would you guess the salary for this position would be? Who wants to play? =) |
| ConfidentDesigner | Posted 9/25/2007 8:13:26 PM | show profile I'll start I'll say a starting salary of $40K. Tops. |
| ManhattanMatt | Posted 9/25/2007 8:18:36 PM | show profile $26K. . |
| ManhattanMatt | Posted 9/25/2007 8:19:01 PM | show profile $26K. . |
| Jen480 | Posted 9/25/2007 8:29:44 PM | show profile That job must've been reposted, b/c I remember it from a few months ago. |
| seeattleme | Posted 9/25/2007 8:38:08 PM | show profile associate editor in NYC, Time Inc in 2003 was about 60K, so I'll say 25-30 K. |
| Newzaroo | Posted 9/25/2007 8:38:29 PM | show profile Me, pick me... I wanna play! O.K...we're talkin' a go-fer' job at a second rate sports glossy... The desert heat will melt your jogging shoes, if the illegals don't steal em' first... It's a high tax state, governed by a bottom feeding hispanic democrat, who is offended by english as the official language... I'm guessing your salary will provide the luxuries of a mud hut, tumble weed entree's and cactus juice cocktails sucked from a used straw... I'll bank on 15k...but after taxes, you'll still qualify for welfare and government cheese... Wow, save me a spot in line! |
| candylilacs | Posted 9/25/2007 8:41:27 PM | show profile First of all, Santa Fe's not that hot. It's more than 4,000 feet in elevation. And from what I heard it was 100-plus in NYC this summer. I'm saying $40-$45K. Good luck! ------ http://www.mswritesguide.blogspot.com |
| lo17 | Posted 9/25/2007 10:24:04 PM | show profile i'd say 35k which is pretty low, but cost of living is decent there... |
| xyz | Posted 9/26/2007 4:12:28 PM | show profile I worked at Outside in the photo department about 7 years ago. I was on the lowest rung of the ladder, just above intern, and they paid me $12/hour. I loved the people I worked with, loved the offices we were in, and loved the beauty of Santa Fe. I only left because I was young and wanted to try other opportunities. The staff is entirely different from when I was there, but I really enjoyed myself. Good luck! |
| bart23ny | Posted 9/26/2007 4:33:27 PM | show profile 35K |
| Bleak Spouse | Posted 9/27/2007 1:14:57 AM | show profile rent isn't cheap in santa fe. |
| lise2177 | Posted 10/4/2007 10:52:57 PM | show profile 60k in 2003? I'm in that position there now and make less than 50. Good to know...though extremely depressing. |
| lise2177 | Posted 10/4/2007 10:53:32 PM | show profile Sorry-- by "there" I mean Time inc, not Outside. |
