Which magazine - Parenting or Parents (or Cookie) is more writer-friendly to those who aren't moms themselves?

Also, is it ok to pitch more than one idea to the same magazine at one time?

Unless you are talking about personal essays, I don't think it matters if you are a mom, but it does matter if you can show a demonstrated ability to write articles about topical parenting issues and ferret out the right experts to interview.

If you did mean personal essays, of those three mags, I'd say Cookie is most open to pieces written by non-parents so long as they have something really new to say on a kid-related issue.

Good luck.

I don't know about Parents or Cookie, but I've written several shorts for Parenting and I don't have kids. I don't write for them too often though; probably because I don't have kids, I don't often come up with ideas for them!

Good luck!

Linda

I don't think Cookie hasn't closed. I just picked up the latest issue last week.

I'm sure you're thinking of Child.
