| paula_vergara | Posted 10/4/2007 12:16:07 PM | show profile Hi, When I'm reading magazines, I can't tell if it's the freelance writer who comes up with the fancy charts/graphs, or it's the editor or designer from the magazine that does this. Is it the writer that comes up with the idea, and the editor simply implements that idea, or do you need to submit a chart along with your article? And, should you get paid more for submitting a graphic along with your article? Thanks. |
| AWC | Posted 10/4/2007 2:31:55 PM | show profile In my experience, it is primarily the writer who either supplies content for an infographic, or at least an idea for a related infographic, usually at the editor's request. A designer would not normally come up with content on his/her own. However, at one mag I worked at, we had a full-time Infographics Editor, who was responsible to produce the content and to work with the Art Department in developing all charts/graphs. |
