| brother-trucker | Posted 10/4/2007 2:28:03 PM | show profile In March, 60 Minutes ran an extraordinarily biased, confrontational interview with Sgt. Frank Wuterich of the United States Marine Corps, who was under investigation for possibly murdering civilians in Iraq after someone in his unit died. Several other Marines were also under investigation. CBS re-ran the piece in August. (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/03/15/60minutes/main2574973.shtml) Pelley's responses to the emotionally wrecked Marine were "oh, come on" and "you can't be serious" when Sgt. Wuterich explained that he followed protocol in the shootings because they had legitimate reason to believe the people were terrorists or hiding terrorists. TODAY, THE MILITARY COURT RECOMMENDED THAT SGT. FRANK WUTERICH WILL NOT BE CHARGED WITH MURDER. NOR WILL ANY OTHER MARINES IN THE ALLEGED INCIDENT. (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071004/ap_on_re_us/marines_haditha_1) Scott Pelley disgraced himself in that interview and now that the court says Sgt. Wuterich and the other Marines didn't murder anyone or act recklessly under extreme battlefield conditions. Now, what should he do? I give him three choices. 1) Apologize to Sgt. Wuterich and his fellow Marines on-air. 2) Join the U.S. military so you actually have the experience before mocking Marines' answers on national television. 3) Say nothing and hide under your desk like many other journalists who use brave servicemembers as pawns in a partisan political debate. Does anyone honestly think he won't choose #3? Also, Mr. Pelley, here's a link where you can go to donate some of your bloated salary to a brave Marine who risked his life to protect us from terrorism. (http://www.frankwuterich.com/) |
| astrahook | Posted 10/4/2007 3:00:59 PM | show profile nice little editorial at the end there. he may have been a brave soldier, but how exactly was he protecting us from terrorism? From all those iraq terrorist attacks on the us? |
| astrahook | Posted 10/4/2007 3:03:35 PM | show profile I just read the story. So he is not a murderer, he is a negligent homociderer. |
| brother-trucker | Posted 10/4/2007 3:07:44 PM | show profile He joined the Marines shortly after the 9/11 attacks, genius. Like many others, he joined to protect us from terrorism. Why are you trying to smear people who give up their lives to protect us? Also, you better watch your words. He hasn't been convicted of anything. |
| astrahook | Posted 10/4/2007 3:33:26 PM | show profile an alleged negligent homiciderer. again, he is protecting us from terrorism how? oh, wait, from the iraqi terrorist attacks on 9/11. |
| Iron Eagle | Posted 10/4/2007 3:51:27 PM | show profile there are soldiers who have done horrible things. |
| Olbypocrisy | Posted 10/4/2007 4:15:52 PM | show profile Antiwar VoteVets.org spokesman Josh Lansdale-- Josh Lansdale falsely charged he was denied health care from the Department of Veterans Affairs because of non-existent cuts to the VA budget http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2007/10/will-antiwar-vets-group-use-phony.html Than theres Jesse MacBeth."He smeared American soldiers on video, accusing them of massacring Iraqis inside a mosque and executing them at close range ? ?they would actually feel the hot muzzle of my rifle on their forehead? Than theres Scott Thomas Beauchamp . Private Beauchamp recounted some grotesque incidents in his columns, including his own mocking of a woman disfigured by the war and accounts of a soldier who took joy in running over a dog in a Bradley fighting vehicle and another who found the top of a child?s skull and wore it on his head as a joke. Than he admits he lied.Everything he said and reported on was a lie. Theses were all heros of anti-war liberals. They appeared on many liberal websites. HotAir---NYTimes |
| Iron Eagle | Posted 10/6/2007 5:30:27 PM | show profile 'Um... yeah. The organization is called Al Queda in Iraq. You remember Al Queda, dont you?' ] Oh, those guys in Pakistan and Afghanistan who ran away when the Bushies looked the other way. |
