Hi all,
I got a quote from a production house for editing, layout, design, prepress work on a 16-page, magazine-style publication that I am hoping to create and need a read on whether the quote is reasonable. It seemed high to me, but I don't want to make assumptions.

We're looking at 16 pages, including front and back cover. Light copy editing on about half the pages of content. Full editing on about three feature-length stories. Layout and design of all pages and art heads, etc. Toning and prepress on photos. Basically, I would provide the copy and the photos to this production house and they would turn it into this publication.

The estimate they gave me was about 500 man hours. That seemed really high, in my experience. What do all of you think?
