I was venting about peeps not protesting enough. I have been a member of UFPJ for many years here's an email I just received.
This is especially important as Bush moves towards starting war with Iran. Then comes Syria. Please help to stop this madman. NG

Please share this as widely as possible!

Watch and share "Confronting the War President," created in support of the Oct 27 Mobilization by Ava Lowery of Peacetakescourage.com.

Momentum is building in response to UFPJ's call for massive regional antiwar demonstrations on Saturday, October 27th. On that day, people from all walks of life will gather in 11 cities around the country in a national expression of the breadth and depth of antiwar sentiment in this nation. For many people, it will be their first step in transforming their antiwar feelings into antiwar action.

The regional character of the October 27th protest is unique. There have been many national marches and quite a few coordinated days of local protest, but never a day of regional action on this scale. We have the opportunity in these next 22 days to transform a good idea into a powerful reality. But it will only happen if everyone jumps into the organizing work.

That's where you come in. Now is the time to get involved in helping us build for October 27th. If we make a serious effort to reach the people who are against the war but have never done anything public, October 27th could end up being one of the strongest and most important mobilizations yet to bring all of the troops home from Iraq.

We are very happy to let you know about 2 new resources designed specifically for the October 27th mobilization:

1) www.oct27.org has information about each of the 11 regional mobilizations, including the one nearest to you. By visiting this website, you can plug into the organizing in your area: Download mobilizing leaflets, find out about organizing meetings, sign up to volunteer, and much more.

2) ??Confronting the War President,? a brief (less than 3 minutes) promotional video for the October 27th mobilization, produced by Ava Lowery of Peacetakescourage.com. Watch this video and then figure out how much time you can donate to help us build the strongest day of protest against this war yet! Be sure to pass the video along to everyone you know!

As you know, an effort like this requires a tremendous effort by many people throughout the country. United for Peace and Justice is proud that our member groups have taken the initiative to organize the October 27th day of regional action. The national coalition is providing the overall structure for the organizing, amplifying the power of each regional action by tying them all together as a massive day of national protest.

Please take a moment right now to lend your financial support to UFPJ. Each dollar you send makes it possible for us to do this timely and critically important work. It's so easy to make a contribution via our secure online donation page; please make the most generous contribution you can afford today.

Let's work together to put the largest numbers of people possible onto the streets of this country on October 27th. The war and occupation in Iraq must end, and we are the people who will make that happen!
